This Privacy Policy describes how Builders Music
("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use
the MusicClasher mobile application ("the App") and related services at
musicclasher.com ("the Service"). By using MusicClasher you agree to
this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who we are
MusicClasher is operated by Builders Music
(sole proprietor: Diavallan Fearon), based in Canada and serving users
globally — including the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, Jamaica,
and elsewhere.
Account information: email address, username
(display name), password (stored as a one-way hash), profile avatar,
optional bio, plan tier (Free / Basic / Full).
Selector profile (optional, for verified DJs):
sound system name, bio, location (country / city — text only, no GPS),
gear list, social links, sound-clash pricing, Stripe Connect
onboarding data.
Optional profile data: phone number (only if you
opt in to SMS-based features such as private-room dial-in), payout
debit card on file (when you earn money on the platform — handled
exclusively by Stripe; see §6).
Content you upload: profile photos, clash
recordings you save, dubplate audio you commission or upload, written
messages in dubplate-commission chats, gift messages, challenge
trash-talk, content reports filed against other users.
2.2 Information collected automatically
Usage data: songs played, dubplates ordered,
clashes participated in, gifts sent and received, leaderboard
standing, sub-and-follower relationships, audience-mode listening
history within a clash room.
Real-time presence: while you are signed in and
the app is in the foreground, our servers track that you are
"online", "in clash" or "listening" so people who follow you see
your status. Presence is cleared when you sign out, background the
app, or your socket disconnects (~90s grace).
Push device tokens: APNs / FCM device identifiers
you give us by granting notification permission. Used solely to send
notifications you have opted in to (challenges, gifts,
friend-went-live, renewal failed). Removed when you revoke
notification permission or uninstall.
Device information: device model, OS version, app
version, language, approximate region (derived from IP for fraud
prevention only).
Diagnostic data: anonymous crash reports and
performance metrics if you consent during onboarding.
2.3 User-safety data
Blocks and reports: when you block another user we
record both parties' emails so we can hide each from the other in
feeds and searches. When you report a user we record the report with
your identity, the target's identity, the reason category, your
optional message, and our review outcome. Reports are retained
indefinitely so we can identify repeat offenders. Blocks are
retained until you manually unblock from your in-app blocked list.
2.4 Permissions we request on your device
Microphone: required to talk to the crowd during
a clash, perform live vocals over a rhythm, and record dubplate
auditions. Audio is processed on your device for live monitoring and
is only transmitted to other participants during a live clash.
Camera: optional, for profile photos and the
video-clash mode where selectors can see each other.
Photo library: optional, to choose a profile
photo or save a clash recording.
Bluetooth: required to use wireless headphones
and speakers.
Local network: optional, to discover nearby
clashes and selectors.
Face ID / biometrics: optional, for fast login
and confirming payments.
Push notifications: optional, to alert you when
someone challenges you, sends you a gift, or messages you.
You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in
iOS Settings → MusicClasher.

5. How we share your information
We share data only with:
Stripe, Inc. — handles all payment processing and
creator payouts. Stripe receives your card details directly; we
never see or store full card numbers. See
stripe.com/privacy.
Apple, Inc. — for in-app purchases of digital
catalog items. Apple's privacy practices apply to those
transactions.
Apple Push Notification service / Google Firebase Cloud
Messaging — receive your push device token and the
notification payload we send so the OS can deliver it to your
device.
DigitalOcean, LLC — hosts the backend servers
that store your account and content.
Cloud storage (CDN) — audio and image files are
served from CDN-fronted infrastructure for performance.
Law enforcement / government — only when legally
required and to the minimum extent necessary.
We do not sell your personal information to third
parties.
6. Payments
All payments — both purchases and creator payouts — are processed by
Stripe. We share your transaction data with Stripe but
never store your full card number, CVC, or bank details on our servers.
When you become a creator (producer, engineer, harmony singer, music
composer, writer, dubplate seller, or verified selector) and earn money
on the platform, you'll complete Stripe Connect Express onboarding,
which collects identity verification and tax information directly
through Stripe. Builders Music takes a 10–30% platform fee on creator
transactions depending on the type (10% on dubplate commissions, 20%
on selector subscriptions, 30% on pay-to-clash + audience gifts);
Stripe additionally charges its standard processing fee.
You can update your payment method, view invoices, and cancel
subscriptions at any time from the Stripe-hosted Customer Portal,
reachable from Profile → Subscriptions in the app.
Apple In-App Purchase is used only for Apple-required digital
purchases (catalog song downloads, gifts during clashes). Apple takes
its standard 30% (or 15% on subscriptions after year one) of those
transactions.
7. Data retention
Account info: kept while your account is active and for 30 days
after account deletion (to handle disputes and legal holds).
Clash recordings: kept until you delete them.
Chat messages with creators: kept for the duration of the order
plus 90 days, in case of dispute.
Notifications + push history: 90 days, then aggregated.
Reports filed against other users: indefinitely (repeat-offender
detection).
Logs and diagnostics: 30 days, then aggregated and anonymised.
Payment records: 7 years (legal/tax requirement).
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your account and associated data
Export your data in a portable format
Object to or restrict certain processing
Withdraw consent to optional permissions at any time
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
European users have additional rights under the GDPR. California
users have additional rights under the CCPA. We honour all of them.
9. Children
MusicClasher is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in
the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has created an account, please email
privacy@musicclasher.com
and we will delete the account and any data associated with it.
10. International transfers
Your data may be processed in Canada, the United States, and the
European Economic Area, depending on which Stripe and CDN regions are
serving you. Where required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses or
equivalent legal mechanisms.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be
announced in-app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
